Indonesia is home to a variety of unique teas, each reflecting the rich culture, diverse landscapes, and traditional practices of each region. Over the years, Indonesia has cultivated many tea types unique to the country, specifically using ingredients grown and found in Indonesia. Some examples include Teh Jatiluwih, a tea from Jatiluwih Tabanan, Bali that uses brown rice, and Teh Lidah Buaya, a tea from Pontianak that uses the skin of aloe vera.
My submission pays homage to Indonesia’s unique tea history, depicting several raw ingredients used in our teas. While Indonesia has a lot of nature that we can see and admire, I also see the importance of appreciating the nature we use and cultivate throughout history, and wanted to highlight that in my work.
